I am an amateur photographer and interested in experimenting with and producing 3d photos and 3d video images, in particular macro images of flowers and insects.
Hi Ludvik,
As you say, it does not have wired remote. I am thinking of getting a second Nikon 1 V1 with lenses to make a rig for stereo video. When recording at 60 fps I can sync the two clips to less than 1/120 sec which is good enough for most video . The resolution for stills ( on the V1 ) is 10Mpixels which I think is plenty enough. I have the Nikon 1 system 10-30mm Nikkor and 30-110mm Nikkor lenses. I also have a 10mm & 16mm extension tube which when used with the Nikkor lenses allow me to do macro photos with auto focus and auto metering. I also have a EOS to Nikon 1 adapter ( no glass ) which means I can use my Canon EF lenses as well ( use in manual mode for focus ).
Hi , nice to hear you like this small beast, the fastest one on the market . I know the sensor they are using here, main issue for me and did not changed after discussion with Nikon on Ibc2013 in Amsterdam, that current model doesn't support wired trigger, want to use them for the rig....what about the resolution, is Ok for you and which lenses you are using ? Cheers Ludvik
Hi Ludvik,
I am quite satisfied with the Nikon 1 V1 camera. The reason for using the Nikon 1 V1, is its low cost, and I wanted a reasonable quality camera ( near DSLR quality ) but with a smaller sensor for the improved dof for macro use.
I also need a camera which would take several photos per second, which I use sometimes with the camera moving sideways to do cha-cha style stereo photos.
